60 Youth Bicycle Helmets Distributed

This afternoon, Amherst Police Bicycle Officers Marcus Humber and Phil Feliciano were at the Colonial Village and Village Park apartment complexes giving away youth bicycle helmets. As part of a grant program by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security Highway Safety Division, the Amherst Police Department was awarded bicycle helmets to distribute to the community. At today’s event, Officers Humber and Feliciano gave out helmets to 60 children who needed them. Next Tuesday, August 25th, they will be at Puffton Village Apartments from 4:00 to 5:30 pm and at South Point Apartments from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Questions regarding this program can be forwarded to Sergeant Brian Daly either via email or at 413-259-3000.
